In New Zealand, Gibbs Farm exists. A repository for some of the finest, environmental sculpture. Each piece designed specifically for it's unique placement.
Some of our favorites:
Neil Dawson's "Horizons"
Seemingly a 2D cartoonish drawing of a crumpled paper is actually a 3D sculpture made of steel.
Anish Kapoor's "Dismemberment, Site 1"
This steel tube also has a "fleshy" fabric stretched throughout the interior. Almost like an artery placed between the landforms.
Richard Serra's "Te Tuhirangi Contour"
56 steel plates help "collect the volume of land."
Illuminati? Devils? Demons? Body Odor?
Sure, we'll buy that.
So AXE released this commercial below: Fear No Susan Glenn
We dig the spot. The flowing production. The psuedo-poetic/creepy Christmas Story-ish narration, and of course the surprise ending cameo. And the message is great, cause it turns the typical AXE commercial on it's head. The girls don't flock to the hero. Instead, the threat of regret, prompts AXE user to man up.
NOW, watch this kook break it down. (A commercial we remind you.) He goes frame by frame to show you all the references to a conspiracy that honestly, we still don't understand.
Regardless, this is brand hacking at it's best.
A new campaign from Amalgamated titled "Summer Hours" employed professional window washers in New York and Chicago to hold signs with messaging targeted at overworked employees, urging them to get out of the office and hit the bar.
PBS OffBook takes a look at the past 25 years of the animated gif. It's amazing how little Gifs have changed and how much influence these simple animations have had on the web.
