Recently, Boulder’s Coupe Studios challenged Egotist readers to pose sound questions via Twitter in preparation for their new “Ideas. Amplified.” campaign from gyro’s Denver office. The crowd-sourcing initiative launches today (you'll see it over there on the right) and features original animated soundscapes by Coupe, animated visuals by gyro AD and resident doodle maestro, Rob Lewis, and questions submitted by Egotist readers. Writer Ricky Lambert and ECD Cameron Day pitched in on the concept, along with Coupe’s multi-faceted sound designers and composers. Credit for the twittered questions appear in each banner. Tweet your question today for consideration in future banners — the weirder, the better.
Great article in the LV Sun today about SK+G and their appearance on the upcoming show on AMC "The Pitch."
They will appear on the premiere episode facing off an unnamed NYC agency pitching Waste Management for a project contract.
The most interesting quote from Jerry Kramer?
“We would like people to realize what a great center this is for an ad agency. We’d actually like to have more competition here. We think that Las Vegas is a great place to have a serious ad agency,” Kramer said.
That's interesting, considering they've all but removed themselves from competing here locally. No entries into the local Addys for the past couple years. Rumblings from the community suggest they stopped entering because they were tired of R&R Partners winning everything. So much for competition.
Any SK+G people care to chime in?
Will you be watching the show? We'll do an episode post-mortem after the airing.
This new spot displays all the crazy things that could happen at your next Caesars Palace stay. We like that it's all on property. We like the note to The Hangover with the tiger. We like the music. And the bellman is charming, and not over the top. Even the Matt Goss cameo at the end makes sense once they reveal the location. The only off note for us is Celine. Just doesn't quite fit the sense of hip-ness the rest of the spot portrays. Considering how horrible most casino television ads are, all in all this is a great effort.
What could had been? Where would we be today? Would Zappos still move downtown if there was a giant, crazy Star Trek ship across the street?
This article tells the story of a brief experiment in what could have been. Instead we have the Fremont Street Experience. So, are we really winners or losers at this point?
Ever wonder what a pterodactyl doing the gallon challenge would sound like? Or what monstrosity would result from mixing equal parts Rebecca Black and Black Sabbath?
Well, now you can find out.
Boulder-based Coupe Studios, proud purveyors of music and sound design, is asking the creative community to tweet them their weirdest ideas involving music, sound design or
(hint, hint) a shotgun marriage between the two.
Favorite tweets will be turned into soundbites, credited to their authors, and posted up within Coupe’s Egotist banner ads.
Don’t miss this opportunity to immortalized in audio. Start tweeting your weird ideas to @coupestudios #soundideas.
This Saturday is the Las Vegas Addys. And since we're in Vegas we figured we'd place some odds on this year's top prize.
Best in Show
2-1 R&R Partners - Will What Happens Here strike again? We're putting them in as the favorite.
3-1 The Glenn Group - After mopping up with the awards will they claim the top spot? New work for The Mob Museum and The Smith Center could help their chances.
6-1 The Agency Field (Maybe something sneaks in from Virgen, 3 Martini Lunch or newcomers 1010 Collective?)
10-1 The Properties Field (It could be a long shot, but some of the high-end mail pieces to their whales are impressive)
Out of the running: SK+G - We hear they didn't enter (again). Are they too busy or too scared?
What do you think? Who's walking away with the top spot?
The latest blog post from The Glenn Group has the musings of Ron Rubin on Grand Openings, including the recent additions of The Mob Museum and The Smith Center.
